Bap 19 May 1786 at St Eustachius Parish Church, Tavistock son of William & Elizabeth.

My hypothesis is that the above John is one and the same with the following details. It is possible that this is incorrect and that further discoveries may refute this, as there were other John Bickles in the county at the time, and also there are discrepancies in his age with following records, and also that there might have been a subsequent John born into the family.

Married 6 Feb 1813 at Tavistock to Sarah SLEEMAN (ref findmypast, John Prickel to Sarah Slemen). She was daughter of John Sleeman and Susanna Rowe (1765-1841) , they married 1 Apr 1784 at Tavistock (ref Ancestry Public Tree). Susanna Rowe was born 1765 at St Agnes, Truro, Cornwall, dau of William Rowe (1734-) and Esther Thomas (1736-); Susanna died 1841. (All details ref Ancestry Public Tree). Sarah was born c1796 at Tavistock, Devon, England (ref 61,71 census records).

The Will of John Sanders late of Gunnislake in the Parish of Calstock in the County of Cornwall Victualler deceased who died 22 April 1865 at Gunnislake aforesaid was proved at Bodmin by the oath of Mary Sanders of Calstock aforesaid Widow the Relict the sole Executrix."

The following records look very likely but Emma Walters was said in FreeBMD to marry John Sanders Mar qtr 1860 at Stoke Damerel dist (ref FreeBMD) and this not Mary's son John Bickell Sanders who had another wife and family, so it is unclear whether the records below belong here.

Married 20 Feb 1831 at Calstock, Cornwall to Ann COURTIS (ref findmypast). The groom was a sojourner, the bride's residence "otp", the wedding by Banns, and the witnesses were William Bickle, John Sanders and Ann Bickle (ref Cornwall online parish clerk).

Ann was born c1809 at Tavistock, Devon (ref census).

In 1835, Edward's address was Morwell Down, he was a labourer, and daughter Sarah was bap at Tavistock; 1838 Edward's address was Newbridge, he was a blacksmith, and daughter Mary Ann was bap at Tavistock.
