2.   Anne CRAPPER
Bap of Anne Crapper 18 Apr 1735 at St Mary, Whitechapel, London, address Bores Head Yard, dau of Noah & Elizabeth, transcriber note "Poor" (ref fmp, London, Docklands and East End Baptisms).

Assumption that his mother was Elizabeth Bowers, not stated in baptism.

Marriage 4 Jun 1771 at Bath St Michael, Somerset of Noah Crapper to Elizabeth STEVENS; Noah was of the parish of St Michael in the City of Bath, batchelor, and Elizabeth was of the parish of St James in the same city, spinster; Banns; witnesses Mary Murray, Henry Spering (ref Ancestry Somerset Marriages image). Probable baptism of Elizabeth Stevens 15 Apr 1744 at St Michael, Bath, no parents listed (ref Ancestry England Select Births & Christenings).

7.   Esther (Hester) CRAPPER

In later documents she was known as Hester.  

Marriage 3 Nov 1777 at Oxford St Aldate, Oxfordshire of Esther Crapper to Michael TERRY [also known as Tarrant]; Michael Terry was of the parish of Farringdon, Berks; Hester [sic] was of St Aldate in the City of Oxford; Banns; signed by the mark of Michael Terry and the signature of Esther [sic] Crapper; witnesses the mark of Susannah Kemerker (?) and Noah Crapper (ref Ancestry Oxfordshire England Marriages image). Bap of Michael Tarrant 24 Mar 1754 at Faringdon, Berkshire, England, son of Leonard Tarrant and Ann (ref Ancestry England Select Births and Christenings & familysearch).

Burial of Michael in 1792 as follows at St Peter-le-Bailey church:
"May 29 or 26 TERRY Michael, 35" (record obtained from Oxford source; in sequence, the datewould be 26)

Esther was a widow in 1797 when son Michael was apprenticed to Noah Crapper, his uncle.

Burial of Hester/Esther in 1803 as follows:
"May 1 TARRANT Hester, 51" at St Peter-le-Bailey, Oxford.
"On Wednesday last died, aged 51, Mrs. Esther Terry, Carrier from this city to Faringdon." (ref British Newspapers, Oxford Journal, Sat 30 Apr 1803)

Marriage (2) 30 Nov 1787 at Oxford St Giles, Oxfordshire of William Crapper to Joanna BEACON; both were of the parish of St Giles; Banns; witnesses were Elizabeth Tarrant, Charles Crapper (ref Ancestry Oxfordshire CofE Baps, Marriages & Burials image). Joanna was born c1760 (ref burial).

There is a newspaper article in 1792 that mentions William Crapper:
"TOWN HALL, OXFORD, Dec. 14, 1792.
We, the Master, Wardens, and Company of the Incorporation of Taylors, in Oxford, at a Meeting held this Day, in order to shew our zealous Attachment to the present happy Constitution of King, Lords, and Commons, do hereby profess our most hearty Concurrence to the several very loyal Resolutions which were passed at the Meeting of the Inhabitants of the City of Oxford on Tuesday last assembled at the Town Hall; and we declare our Readiness to co-operate with and support the said Resolutions to their full Extent and Meaning, whenever called upon.
Signed by the Master, Wardens, and all the Members of the Company, except William Crapper.

This Will was proved at Oxford on the third day of December in the year of our Lord 1834 Before the Reverend Philip Bliss Clerk D. C. L. Surrogate of the Reverend George Turner Clerk Master of Arts Official Principal of the Reverend the Archdeacon of Oxford lawfully constituted by the Oaths of William Quarterman and George Cox the Executors therein named to whom Admon was granted being first sworn duly to Administer.
In the Name of God Amen! I Charles Crapper of the Parish of Saint Giles in the suburbs of the City of Oxford Gentleman do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say being weak in Body but of sound mind and perfect memory thanks be given unto God calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that is is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament Principally and first of all I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth to be buried in a decent christian manner in the same Grave with Elizabeth my late beloved Wife at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give and dispose of the same in manner following First I give and devise unto William Quarterman of the Parish of Saint Aldates in the City of Oxford Breeches Maker and George Cox Wine Butler of Saint Johns College in the University of Oxford and their heirs All those my six Freehold Messuages or Tenements with the Gardens and Appurtenances thereto respectively belonging situate at Summer Town in the Parish of Saint Giles in the Surburbs of the City of Oxford Upon Trust to sell and dispose thereof and convey and assure the same to the Purchaser or Purchasers thereof as soon after my decease as conveniently may be either together or in Lots for the best price and prices that can be gotten for the same and either by public auction or private Contract and from and out of the Money arising therefrom In Trust to place out in their names the Sum of one hundred pounds sterling in the Public Funds or on private security and to pay the Interest and Dividends thereof unto my Housekeeper Elizabeth Whiter, if living with me at my decease, for and during the Term of her natural Life and from and after her decease I direct the same Principal Sum of One Hundred Pounds shall sink into the residue of my Personal Estate And I direct that the residue of the money arising from such sale shall form part of the residue of my Personal Estate And I direct that my said Trustees upon payment of the Money arising from such Sale or Sales shall sign and give proper receipts for the same which receipts shall be a sufficient discharge to the Purchaser or Purchasers who or his her or their Heirs or Assigns shall not afterwards be liable to see to the Application of or be answerable for the loss misapplication or non-application of such Purchase Money or any part thereof - I give to my Executors the Sum of Three Pounds each for the trouble they may have in the execution of the Trusts of this my Will - I give to the said Elizabeth Whiter The Waggon Top Bedstead and Furniture with a Feather Bed Bolster and Pillow two pairs of Sheets, two Blankets and Quilts - I give to my Daughter Hannah Giles a Feather Bed marked with 2 H's being her Aunts and my late Wife's three Gold Rings - I also give my three Children equally the Sum of Ten Pounds payable at my decease from and out of the Benefit Club called the Civis of which I am a Member And all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever I give and bequeath the same unto my three Children John Crapper Henry Crapper and Hannah Giles equally share and share alike Provided and it is my Will that in case any or either of my said three Children shall die in my lifetime leaving lawful issue then such issue shall be entitled to the Share which his or her Parent would have had in case such Parent had survived me And I appoint the said William Quarterman and George Cox joint Executors of this my Will and it is my Will that it shall be lawful for my said Trustees and Executors to retain and reimburse themselves out the the said Trust Monies all such Costs and Expences as they may be put unto in the execution of this my Will and that each of them shall be liable for his own Acts and Deeds only and not the one for the other of them - In Witness whereof I the said Charles Crapper have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper to the first Sheet thereof set my hand and to this second and last Sheet set my hand and Seal this twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty three.
