Marr reg Sep qtr 1845 at St Saviour dist to Harriet DAVIS (ref FreeBMD). The banns were read 11, 18, 25 May, both of the parish.
.Reference the marriage certificate, married 6th July 1845. Harriet was a silk weaver of 1 Fuller St, Bethnal Green, dau of William Davis, carpenter. Joseph was a porter, of 27 Pennington Street, St Georges East, son of Samuel Bysouth, labourer. The witnesses were William King and Sarah King (Joseph's sister and brother in law). Harriet Louisa DAVIS was bap 29 Jul 1827 at Farningham, Kent, dau of William Davis and Sophia (ref IGI). She was born 12 Nov 1824 at 6 Georges St, Camberwell, dau of William Davis and Sophia Lane, middle name sometimes spelt Luisa (ref book inscription of William Davis noted by Jefferies Genealogy).

At baptism of Harriet in 1846 they were at 111 Pennington St, he was a labourer. At the 1848 baptism he was a labourer of Eltham, Kent. At the marriage of son Henry Abel, Joseph was listed as a Brewer but this may not have been true.

Joseph was convicted of perjury at the Central Criminal Court at London, Middlesex, 3 February 1851; his sentence was to be 7 years' transportation (ref National Archives, PCOM 3/13/1241 referring to Licence number 1241 granted 27 July 1854 for early release from Defence hulk prison, on his death).

Joseph died on 26 Jul 1854 in Unity Hospital Ship, Woolwich Arsenal (Pier), Greenwich, Kent of cholera (from his Death Certificate, reported by Jefferies Genealogy). He would otherwise have been transported as a convict. His death reg Sep qtr 1854 at Greenwich dist (ref FreeBMD).

He is also listed as a passenger (Robert Bysouth age 35), Jun 1871, on the ship 'Somersetshire' to Australia. If one or both of these are true, he must have travelled back to England for his marriage.

The marriage was 20 Dec 1872 at St Leonard, Shoreditch; the groom was aged 38, bachelor, Stone Mason, of 15 Mansfield St, son of Samuel Bysouth, Farmer; the bride, her name corrected to 'MARGRET PERREY', was aged 29, spinster, of Chingford Essex, dau of George Perrey, Farmer; witnesses were Henry & Jane Bysouth [probably brother, and sister-in-law Jane Smart] (ref Ancestry London Marriages).

Margret was the dau of Geo Perrey and Mary (ref her death reg). Her birth was reg Sep qtr 1844 at Epping Dist (ref FreeBMD), and bap 21 Jul 1844 at Chingford, Essex (ref IGI).

The shipping records do not show Robert's return to Victoria after the wedding. Margret arrived at Victoria Mar 1873 aboard the 'Somersetshire' (unassisted passage) aged 34. She was accompanied by Alice Bysouth aged 23, who appears to be the wife of Henry Abel Bysouth, believed to be Robert's nephew (see above).

Robert died 1905 at Heidelberg, Victoria, Australia aged 70 (Vic reg 5624).
Margret died 1910 at Melbourne West, Victoria, Australia (Vic reg 2725).
