3.   Charles SOUTHON
Born c1862 at Paris, France.
The existence and relationship of Charles has been inferred from 1871 census record. However there is great doubt about this, particularly in notes from Christine Patement 2012 who states that information from elderly relatives never mentioned that James and Alfred had a little brother; so Charles may be an unknown relative.

As given above with Alfred:
The 1871 census lists two young boys as visitors at the house of James and Sarah Southon. It is possible that these two were brothers, and grandchildren of James and Sarah, being children of Alfred Southon and Eliza Freeman, who are believed to have spent some time in Paris.

However an examination of the original document shows that the entry for Charles is in a different handwriting and includes the address "15 Weston Street". The whole entry appears to be crossed out. The household schedule number also appears different.
