JBG is centre front
1913 or later, 52nd Battalion Australian Infantry (which was for a period The Victorian Scottish Regiment)
(Note: some of the men were in kilts and some in khaki with "52" on the front of their slouch hats; under the revised Defence Act of 1910,
all males, unless exempted, were required to do some military service. These individuals joined the Citizen Forces, and were known as
Universal Trainees. The Victorian Scottish Regiment had consisted of unpaid volunteers who had to buy their own uniforms.
The VSR became the 52nd (Hobson's Bay) Infantry, but the volunteers continued to wear Scottish dress,
whereas the universal trainees wore khaki. It all changed again in 1915 with the establishment of the AIF.)

JSG is immediately in front of the 4th from left, back row. He is a Sergeant in this picture.
On the back he has written "3rd Division Signals Seymour - 1930 Member 28-32" but it may have been later.

This is signed on the back by all except JSG (centre back). He has written "Seymour - 1930".
The names include Snowball, Pattinson, Liston, French and possibly Fryer.
JSG and the man on his right are Sergeants, the other in the rear is possibly a Corporal.
