John migrated to Australia by 1895 when he witnessed the marriage of his sister. John Beal died 1900 at the lunatic asylum at Kew, Victoria. He died intestate and the probate records online indicate that his portion of money inherited from William James Brimage went to his sisters Mary Elizabeth Smith and Sarah Jane Westersen (see online probate records). According to the Coburg Cemetery website, John died 25 Jan 1900 aged 37 and was buried there in a Church of England section.	1871 census
